Curbing Food Insecurities

Covid-19 has negatively impacted people and increase food insecurities in the community.  NENA, along with local pastors, ministers and volunteers, have rented U-Haul trucks to pick up hundreds of boxes of food from Second Harvest and distribute them to needy residents from our facility every Friday for the past several months. It has helped hundreds of families in the community to fight against hunger.

Community Clean Up

Thank you so much to all the REALTORS that volunteered their time to beautify the community. It was a very successful event.  So much trash was picked up that it filled the entire truck.

Special thanks to Julian and Laurie Landry for putting this event together, Junk King for donating their truck, House Call for cooking delicious Jambalaya and to the generous donors who donated money to NENA, and those who help set up tents and tables to make this event fun while helping the community.
